Providing compassionate therapy services for parents, couples, and neurodivergent children in-person in Cheshire, CT and virtually throughout Connecticut
Hey there! I'm Dominika. I’m so glad you're here, and I’m excited to be part of the beginning of your healing journey. My name is Dominika Zienkiewicz, and I’m the founder of DMZ Therapy. I specialize in parenting and co-parenting, particularly with families navigating autism and neurodivergence. I also help with communication within marital and family dynamics, especially when things are feeling stuck or high-conflict.
What does my approach look like? It’s all about you — your unique needs, goals, and experiences. I use a blend of client-centered, solution-focused, and goal-oriented interventions. I want you to feel heard, seen, and supported throughout our time together. My aim is to help you develop the tools to navigate life’s challenges, communicate more effectively, and feel like you’re thriving, not just surviving.
I’m passionate about helping clients who are motivated to change and grow — you bring the desire, and I’ll bring the support. I try to create a space where you feel comfortable and secure, so we can dive deep into the work that will bring you closer to a peaceful, happier life.
And hey, just like you, I’m a person too! When I’m not working with my amazing clients, I’m usually traveling, hanging out with animals, practicing yoga, or enjoying a cup of coffee (let’s be real, I take my coffee seriously). I’m also in the process of writing a book, hoping to inspire others by sharing my own journey and struggles because we’re all human, and you are not alone in yours.
Every day brings new challenges and growth for me too, and I’m here with you every step of the way. Together, we’ll work through whatever you’re facing and get you to a place where you feel more confident, connected, and whole.
You don’t have to go through this alone. I’m here for you, and I’m here with you.
Whether you're in Cheshire or anywhere in Connecticut, I offer both in-person sessions at my office (609 West Johnson Ave, Cheshire, CT 06410) and virtual therapy options to fit your needs and comfort level.
A little about my path here: Before stepping into the world of therapy, I worked as a Special Education educator, focusing on intervention and behavioral skills. My journey started with a degree in Education Studies and Psychology (with a minor in American Sign Language). It was there I discovered my passion for child development, which led me to work as an ABA Therapist and RBT, supporting children with Autism and other behavioral challenges, both at school and at home.
Over the years, I’ve helped countless parents with everything from potty training and teaching new skills to reducing stimming behaviors. It’s been such a privilege to support children in their journey to become more independent and thrive.
As my career evolved, I found myself wanting to work with adults as well, so I earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I spent time doing my internship and practicum at a group practice, and then launched my own private practice, where I continue to work with individuals (children and adults), couples, and families.
